Attendance Excuses
Please send all Elementary attendance messages/excuses to the following email address
- All supporting documents (such as doctor's note, dentist notes, etc.) can be dropped off in the main office of each school.
- Attendance will be taken by the teacher during each class session.
- All absences and tardies will be determined as either EXCUSED or UNEXCUSED depending on the reason provided by the parent/guardian.
- A reason for absence should be reported within two school days after the student returns.
- Students who accumulate excessive unexcused tardies or unexcused absences will be documented reported to school administrators.
- Attendance Codes in PowerSchool- Blank=Present, UA=Unexcused absence, MC=Missed Class, UT=Unexcused tardy, ISS=In School Suspension, OS=Out of school suspension, HBS- Home Bound Student)

2024 SPRING CCES SOL TESTING CALENDAR
Charles City Elementary School is prepared and ready for the Virginia Standards of Learning Assessment (SOL) given every year to our CCES students in grades 3-6. In order to provide a calming and successful testing experience, please review the testing calendar below for upcoming test dates. Make sure that computers are charged for your child, and that they come with their devices and chargers each day. This is key to creating a smooth testing experience for all. As an additional reminder, check out the Tiger Family Resources, located under the parents and students tab on our website. These resources will provide additional study tools to help your child succeed on, not only their state test, but also in their everyday learning experiences.
